Welcome to McConnell Estates Winery

Located just north of the Cosumnes River along Highway 99, McConnell Estates Winery brings the excellence of the Lodi Appellation to Elk Grove. Built over 100 years ago, the beautiful McConnell house serves as both our old-fashioned winery and modern visitors' center. We welcome you to come visit, taste our wines, and relax on the deck in the warm valley sun.

Newly Released 2006 Zinfandel

The Wackman Family, Owners of McConnell Estates Winery, dedicate this bottle to our 6 kids. They are 6th generation farmers in the Elk Grove area and we would like to celebrate them with this unique flavorful Zinfandel.

It is a rich full flavored Zinfandel with aromatic strawberry jam nose and cherry flavors. It goes great with chocolate and desserts

Newly Released 2006 Petitie Syrah, Wackman Ranch

A big bold wine that has medium tannins and hints of blueberry and oak. It pairs perfectly with a tenderloin, smoked and BBQ red meats, game and lamb.

A little about the Owners.....

The Wackman Family, Marilyn Wackman and her three sons, Howard III, Michael and Alan, a fifth generation farming family in the Elk Grove area, own and operate the Wackman Ranch. In 1993, they planted their first grapes. They had an idea that the red clay soils in Elk Grove, CA would produce a full flavored unique wine, and they did.

Now, there are over 650 acres of grapes on the Wackman Ranch. Varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon, Barbera, Merlot, Petite Syrah, Syrah, Zinfandel, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.

In 2001, the three brothers along with their families decided it was time to make their own wines, so they embarked on the adventure of building their own winery. McConnell Estates Winery. We are currently serving 8 varieties of wine, Chardonnay, Tempranillo, Zinfandel, Barbera, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petite Syrah. Please stop by for a taste and enjoy a little history of Elk Grove.
